Women Trained in Safety Measures Under Mission Shakti 5.0 at Hazratganj Police Station

Lucknow: The Lucknow Police Commissionerate conducted an awareness program under Mission Shakti 5.0 at the Mission Shakti Centre, Hazratganj Police Station, aimed at empowering women and enhancing their awareness of safety measures.

The initiative was carried out under the direction of Police Commissioner Amrendra Kumar Sengar, as part of a broader अभियान across Lucknow where Mission Shakti Centres have been established in 54 police stations to ensure prompt resolution of women-related issues. Each centre is staffed with designated officers, including women personnel, to assist and support complainants.

During the program, women and girls from the Alibagh outpost area were invited to the centre and educated about police functioning, personal safety, women’s rights, self-reliance, and cyber awareness. The session also covered traffic safety measures and the role of community participation in ensuring security.

The awareness drive was led by Women Sub-Inspectors Sharda Singh and Shivangi, along with Constables Renu Devi, Prachi Chauhan, and Jyoti. Other personnel, including Women Sub-Inspector Lakshmi Pal, Constables Simran and Anushka, and Constable Vaibhav Mishra, also participated in the program.

Officials informed participants about key emergency helpline numbers, including 1090 (Women Power Line), 181 (Women Helpline), 112 (Emergency Service), and 1098 (Child Helpline), and encouraged them to note and use these services when needed. Women were also made aware of facilities like Pink Booths and digital services such as the UP Cop App, which enable quick access to police assistance.

The session also highlighted the functioning of Women Safety Centres and Help Desks, along with practical tips to prevent cyber crimes and respond effectively during emergencies.

Officials stated that the primary objective of the program was to equip women with essential knowledge and skills for personal and social safety, enabling them to act confidently in challenging situations.

The initiative was widely appreciated as a meaningful step toward strengthening trust between the police and the community, while promoting a safer and more empowered environment for women.
